Night of Science
The Night of Science at Goethe University Frankfurt has grown into a major academic event, but for me, it will always be special because I was there at its very beginning - when it all started within the Physics department. Over the years, I volunteered many times, working day and night shifts before and after the event. Though I no longer help organize it, I still love to visit when I can.
What makes the Night of Science so meaningful to me is its celebration of diverse disciplines and perspectives. Listening to talks at 4 AM - whether on biology, robotics, or some other subject which at that time is completely foreign to you taught me that solutions often exist beyond one’s own field. Problem solving thrives on curiosity, communication, and most importantly the humility to learn from others and be a team player. Now in Switzerland, I hope to help create or join similar spaces where knowledge is shared freely, across boundaries and communicated to wider audiences.
